Learn how to memorize the notes of both staves with helpful mnemonic devices: | Finding the Piano's Middle C Middle C divides the treble staff from the bass staff; and on the keyboard, it separates the notes played with the right hand from notes played with the left: | Types of Music Notes (in U.S. & U.K. English!) Music notes written on the staff express both pitch (by their location on the staff) and length (by their "color" and stem-flag ... or lack thereof).
